  1. I am fascinated by the features you post on your blog which I happened to surf through because I was researching for a piece on the use of trains in Indian cinema, I could not access the 2nd and 3rd part of the essay I do not know why.

I am Dr. Shoma Chatterji who basically qualified in Economics and Education but drifted to film studies after being a film critic for 20 long years. Hope to visit your blog more often.

  2. Thank you for your kind comments - please do come back regularly. I am sorry you haven't been able to access parts 2 and 3 but you I have checked and they are working fine. I do think the use of trains in Indian cinema is extensive and intrinsic to the way narrative and genre has evolved over the decades. In truth, the subject of trains would probably warrant a further more extensive study.

Here is a link to my Vimeo channel - https://vimeo.com/channels/310921 (this includes the videos for parts 2 and 3 of the video essay on trains)
